Product information "Brass anvil"
The brass anvil is the counterpart to your hole punch tube and is used as a support in a press. It is inserted at the bottom into the 12 mm mount and provides controlled resistance for clean hole punchings. Brass protects the cutting edge of the hole tool better than hard steel supports.
The brass anvil is designed for hole tools up to 17 mm diameter and covers several tool sizes via different upper diameters. It is suitable for typical punching work in leather and textile and can also be used with other non-metallic materials. This brass anvil is not suitable for circle cutters.

For hole tools up to 10 mm, the upper diameter is 14 mm. For 12 mm hole tools, the upper diameter is 18 mm. For 17 mm hole tools, the upper diameter is 22 mm.
Does the brass anvil fit every 12 mm mount?
The brass anvil is designed for a 12 mm mount and has 11.8 mm diameter at the bottom. The mount must be at least 12 mm deep because the lower part is 12 mm high.
Can I use the brass anvil as a backing plate for a circle cutter?
The brass anvil is not suitable as a backing plate for circle cutters. A plastic backing plate is required for circle cutters.
The three anvil sizes
The item is offered in three variants. The number indicates the anvil diameter and relates directly to your hole tool:
- 14 mm: Choose this version for hole tools up to and including 10 mm diameter.
- 18 mm: This version fits hole tools with 12 mm diameter.
- 22 mm: This version is for hole tools with 17 mm diameter.

- Order the variant according to the diameter of your hole tool or hole punch tube.
- The anvil does not replace the backing plate for the circle cutter.

- With deep notches, cut quality on the workpiece may decrease.
