Press sets for eyelets, snap fasteners, rivets & covered buttons

Press sets are complete solutions for our textile and leather processing: you receive a press together with exactly matching tools and the corresponding eyelets, snap fasteners, hollow rivets or covered buttons. This lets you realise your project straight away without having to source every single part yourself.

The sets cover typical applications from beginner projects to professional garment and industrial use. You choose the right set by application and material – giving you a solid foundation that you can expand at any time with further tools and consumables. Details such as exact sizes, hole diameters and variants can be found on the respective product pages of the press sets.

Why press sets make sense

A press set gives you a complete, matched solution instead of many individual decisions. Press, tool and consumables are combined so they fit together technically and reliably cover typical applications.

  • Everything compatible & matched: press, tools and consumables are designed for one another.
  • Less risk of wrong purchases: you do not need to painstakingly match threads or hole diameters.
  • Better value than buying separately: sets are usually more attractively priced than the sum of individual products.
  • Ready to use immediately: everything needed for the described use case is included.
  • Ideal for beginners: less technical research, more focus on your own project.

Typical composition of a press set

Our press sets are organised by consumable type: for example DIN and standard eyelet sets, snap-fastener sets, hollow-rivet sets and sets for covered buttons. Each set includes a suitable press and the components matched to it.

A press set typically consists of:

  • one press from our Presses category,
  • tools that fit the chosen consumable exactly (e.g. eyelet tool, snap-fastener tool, hollow-rivet tool, covered-button tool),
  • a starter quantity of consumables (e.g. 50 or 100 pieces in a defined specification),
  • a punch tool for eyelets, hollow rivets and snap fasteners:
    • for eyelets, always matched to the eyelet size,
    • for hollow rivets and snap fasteners, usually 2.5 mm, since the pin always has the same diameter regardless of head size.

Which press, which tools and which quantities are included in detail can always be found on the product page of the press set.

How to choose the right press set

Selecting the right set works best in three steps:

  1. Clarify material & application: What do you need the connection for? Do you need a reinforced hole (eyelet), a detachable connection (snap fastener), a permanent connection (hollow rivet) or a decorative button (covered buttons)? Which materials are you working with – fabric, tarpaulin, leather, technical textiles?
  2. Choose the right consumable: From material and application it follows whether you need eyelets, snap fasteners, hollow rivets or covered buttons. Our categories help you find your way.
  3. Choose the press by frequency of use: On the product page of the selected press set you can see which press is included. For many beginners and smaller quantities, a press like the TEP-2 is especially attractive because of its low price. For frequent or more demanding applications, other press types may be suitable, described in detail on the Presses page.

Good to know: A press set is not a dead end but a foundation. The included press can later be expanded with further tools and consumables from our system.

Compatibility & systems

Our press sets are part of a coherent system of presses, tools and consumables. The sets are assembled from products in the categories Presses, Tools, Eyelets, Snap fasteners, Hollow rivets and covered buttons.

Compatibility within our system

The presses included in the sets are the same models you will find as individual products in the Presses category. There you will find detailed information on function, compatibility and technical details.

In general: Almost all of our presses are compatible with most of our tools. This means for you:

  • You can start with an eyelet set and later add further tool-and-consumable combinations (for example for snap fasteners or hollow rivets).
  • In many cases you can also use tools from a set with other presses from our system, as long as thread and mount match.

Details on technical compatibility (e.g. threads, mounts, possible adapters) can be found on the respective press product page in the Presses category.

Third-party tools and consumables

Our press sets are designed to work optimally with the associated tools and consumables from our range. We cannot guarantee compatibility, processing results or safety when using third-party tools or consumables.

If you use tools or consumables from other manufacturers, you do so at your own risk. For guaranteed results we recommend staying within our system of presses, tools and eyelets, snap fasteners, hollow rivets and covered buttons.

Frequently asked questions about press sets

How do I choose the right press set for my application?

The easiest approach is a three-step selection:

  1. Clarify material & application: Do you need a reinforced hole (eyelet), a detachable connection (snap fastener), a permanent connection (hollow rivet) or a decorative button (covered buttons)? And on which material – for example fabric, tarpaulin, leather or technical textiles?
  2. Choose the right consumable: Based on function and material you decide whether you need eyelets, snap fasteners, hollow rivets or covered buttons. In these categories you will find the corresponding press sets.
  3. Choose the press by frequency of use: On the product page of the chosen set you can see which press is included. All our presses are designed for versatile use within our system. A press like the TEP-2 is especially attractive because of its low price if you are just starting out or only work occasionally. Further information on the different presses can be found on the Presses page.
Which press set is especially suitable for beginners?

For beginners it is important that the set covers your specific project and that the press is versatile. First decide whether you need eyelets, snap fasteners, hollow rivets or covered buttons. Then choose a set with one of our presses.

A press like the TEP-2 is especially beginner-friendly because of its low price. The respective set product pages show which press is included in the specific set and for which applications it is recommended.

Can I later process other eyelets or snap fasteners with the same press?

Yes – that is one of the most important advantages of our press sets. The press is not limited to a single product but is part of a modular system. You can later add further tool-and-consumable combinations – for example other eyelet sizes, snap-fastener variants, hollow rivets or covered buttons.

What matters is that you choose additional tools and consumables to match from our categories Eyelets, Snap fasteners, Hollow rivets, covered buttons and Tools. Information on the technical compatibility of the presses can be found on the Presses page.

What if I need other diameters later?

If you want to process other diameters or variants later, you do not need to replace your existing press set. Simply expand it:

  • choose the right consumable in the desired size (for example other eyelet sizes or hollow-rivet/snap-fastener variants),
  • add the matching tool from the Tools category,
  • keep using the existing press from your set.

The exact sizes and required hole diameters are described on the respective product pages of the consumables and tools.

What is typically included in a press set?

Every press set is designed so you can start straight away for the described use case. A set typically includes:

  • a suitable press from the Presses category,
  • tools matched exactly to the chosen consumable (e.g. eyelet, snap-fastener or hollow-rivet tools),
  • a starter quantity of consumables (e.g. 50 or 100 pieces),
  • a punch tool where required: for eyelets matched to eyelet size; for hollow rivets and snap fasteners usually 2.5 mm for the pin.

The exact composition – which specification and which sizes – can be found on the respective product page of the set.

Are press sets compatible with all tools in your range?

The presses in our sets are based on the same models as in the Presses category. There you will find detailed compatibility information.

In general, almost all of our presses are compatible with most of the tools in our range. This means:

  • You can start with an eyelet set and later add tools for snap fasteners, hollow rivets or covered buttons,
  • You can use tools for different consumables on the same press, as long as thread and mount match.

If in doubt, check the press product page in the Presses category or contact our support team.

Can I use third-party tools or third-party eyelets/snap fasteners with press sets?

Our press sets are designed to work optimally with the associated tools and consumables from our range. With third-party tools or consumables we can offer no guarantee for compatibility, processing results or safety.

All our presses have a 1/4"–20 UNC thread. Third-party tools can therefore only be mounted in the press in principle if they also have this thread. Even if the thread fits, however, we accept no guarantee for suitability or results – use of third-party products is always at your own risk.

For reproducible results and high process reliability we recommend staying within our system of presses, tools and the matching consumable categories.

Do you help me choose the right press set?

Yes, gladly. If you are unsure which consumable or set suits your project, contact us with your material, planned application and a brief project overview.

Based on this information we will recommend a suitable combination of consumable, press set and possible expansion options. Contact details can be found as usual on our service pages.
