What is included in every variant?
Always: 1× press · 1× button tool · 50× button blanks · circle cutter holder · circle cutter mat · circle cutter. With FSP additionally: button tool holder · centring pin · pressure pin.
How do I choose press and button size together?
Blank and button tool must share the same size grade. TEP-2 and screw press remain practical for button covering up to size 36 / 23 mm; from size 40, toggle or spring-strike press is recommended.
Why are there cover material options fabric and leather?
This reflects different button tools: fabric version for lighter fabrics, faux leather and very soft, thin natural leather; leather version for leather and hard-wearing upholstery fabrics.
What do colour silver versus black or white mean?
Silver stands for steel on the back part; black and white for plastic. With leather covering, plastic back parts are not intended.
What does the spring-strike press include for the button tool?
The set includes the button tool holder instead of the 19 mm→9 mm bush plus centring pin and pressure pin — for the correct 9 mm lower holder of the button tool on the FSP.
What does the size specification on the blanks mean?
It follows the usual button/cap line with millimetre reference; read detailed dimensions on the button blank listings and in measurement data, not as a complete table in this set.
Can I use other blanks?
Only at your own risk; reliable function is assured with Getmore Crafts button blanks.
When is it worth upgrading to a professional button machine?
For very high quantities or permanent series production, the professional button machine or professional set is usually the more efficient choice; this set remains a sensible entry point with a matched chain.

Press

  • Choose between spring-strike press (FSP), toggle press (KHP), screw press and TEP-2. Force, handling and series tempo differ: compact lever presses suit many hobby and small-series jobs; larger blanks and high series load favour KHP or FSP.
  • TEP-2 and screw press remain practical for button covering up to size 36 / 23 mm; from size 40, KHP or FSP are the better mechanical choice.

Cover material

  • Fabric (standard): For covering buttons with fabric — for thin to medium-weight fabrics, faux leather and very thin, soft natural leather. For fabric buttons: fabrics up to about 2 mm and faux leather 0.5 mm to 1 mm.
  • Leather: For leather buttons and upholstery buttons: leather 1 mm to 2 mm, upholstery fabrics 1 mm to 2.5 mm. Medium-weight leather and medium to thick upholstery fabrics; when the fabric variant does not suit your material.

Size

  • Size follows the usual button/cap line with millimetre reference (e.g. size 20 / 12.5 mm to size 60 / 37 mm in measurement data). Blank and button tool must share the same size grade; change size only as a complete variant logic, not via mixed individual parts.

Colour

  • Black and white denote plastic on the back part; silver stands for steel on the back part. The visible cap is aluminium on all variants; colour/material refer only to the back part with the eyelet.

Material

  • The material attribute denotes the back part or blank back side (plastic or steel) and corresponds with the colour logic. With cover material leather, plastic back parts are not intended and therefore not selectable in this combination.

Purpose

This set enables complete covering of button blanks with fabric, faux leather or leather — from precise cutting to the finished button. All components are matched and work together with the included press in one continuous workflow.

Workflow

  • First cut precise fabric or leather discs with the circle cutter. Use the included holder and mat for clean, even results.
  • Insert lower tool part (with pin and spring) into the press holder. Depending on press, mount pressure pin or use existing tool holder (on TEP-2 the upper tool holder acts as pressure pin).
  • Place button blank back with eyelet facing down in the lower tool part.
  • Insert fabric or leather disc in the upper tool part. Place button cap smooth side on the material disc and press both into the tool.
  • Turn upper tool part over and place on lower tool part.
  • Operate press — the pressing process joins blank and material into a finished covered button.

Requirements

  • Circle cutter, button tool and button blanks in the set are already matched and follow the same size logic.
  • The included press is prepared for the supplied button tool (depending on variant incl. required holders and components).

Notes

  • Ensure cleanly cut material discs so the button is covered evenly.
  • Work with even pressure for optimal results without creasing.
  • On spring-strike press regularly check secure fit of inserted components such as pressure pin or holder.
