Product information "Adapter for spring-strike press"
The thread adapter for the spring-strike press expands the tool compatibility of your press. It screws into the M12 thread on the top of the spring-strike press and reduces to your chosen internal thread — M6, M8 or 1/4"-20 UNC.
This lets you use both Getmore Crafts standard tools and tools with M6 or M8 thread in your spring-strike press. The adapter is made of blued steel and is secured with a 17-mm open-end wrench.

Which internal thread do I need?
Choose 1/4 inch (UNC-20) for all standard Getmore Crafts tools. You need M6 or M8 for tools from the third-party press line or for third-party tools with the corresponding thread.
Does the adapter also fit other Getmore presses?
No. The adapter is designed exclusively for the spring-strike press and does not fit the eyeletting press TEP-2, the screw press or the toggle press.
Can I use tools from other manufacturers?
Tools with a matching thread can be used mechanically. No functional guarantee is given for third-party tools.
Do I need to retighten the adapter regularly?
Under impact load the adapter can loosen over time. Check the secure fit regularly and retighten with a 17-mm open-end wrench if needed.
Does this adapter replace the adapter for Prym tools?
No. The adapter for Prym tools is a separate product family with a different design and mount.
Which tool do I need for installation?
An open-end wrench with 17 mm jaw width. Hand-tight installation is not enough to secure the adapter under impact load.
Can I switch between different adapters?
Yes. Loosen the installed adapter with the 17-mm open-end wrench and screw in the desired variant. In practice the adapter usually remains permanently installed.
Feature: Thread
The adapter is available in three thread variants. Choose the internal thread to match your tools:
- 1/4"-20 UNC: The standard thread of all Getmore Crafts tools. Choose this variant if you want to use our regular tools in your spring-strike press.
- M6: For tools with M6 thread, e.g. from our third-party press line or from third-party suppliers.
- M8: For tools with M8 thread, e.g. from our third-party press line or from third-party suppliers.
Installation
The adapter is screwed into the M12 internal thread on the top of the spring-strike press. Turn the adapter in by hand first, then tighten firmly with a 17-mm open-end wrench. Hand-tight installation alone is not enough — the adapter must be secured against loosening under impact load.
Retightening
After extended use under impact load the adapter can loosen. Check the secure fit regularly and retighten the adapter with the 17-mm open-end wrench if needed.
With Getmore Crafts products
- Fits exclusively in the spring-strike press from Getmore Crafts (M12 thread on top).
- 1/4"-20 UNC variant: Compatible with all Getmore standard tools (eyelet tools, snap fastener tools, hollow rivet tools, punch tools, button tools, etc.).
- M6 variant: Compatible with all Getmore tools from the third-party press line with M6 thread.
- M8 variant: Compatible with all Getmore tools from the third-party press line with M8 thread.
- Not compatible with the eyeletting press TEP-2, the screw press and the toggle press.
With products from other manufacturers
- Tools from other manufacturers with matching thread (M6, M8 or 1/4"-20 UNC) can be used mechanically. No functional guarantee is given for third-party tools.
