Product information "Hollow Rivet Press Set Double Head, Single Head"

This press set combines the Getmore Crafts press of your choice with a matching hollow rivet tool, a 2.5 mm hole tool and 25 hollow rivets in the chosen combination of head shape, size, material and color. The press, hole tool, rivet tool and starter quantity of rivets are matched to each other within the variant, so you do not need to solve the typical error source of finding a matching tool for the rivet and the hole yourself.

You put together the set via the features color, size, material, press and type (single head or double head). Double-head hollow rivets are suitable when both visible sides should look decorative; single-head hollow rivets emphasize the visible side while the back stays plain.

For hollow rivets you usually prepare the workpiece with a 2.5 mm hole; the matching hole tool is included. The chosen press then remains the basis for further pressing tools from the Getmore range once you want to add other applications or sizes.

What exactly is included in a set variant?
For each chosen variant you receive a press, a matching hollow rivet tool in the chosen head shape and size, a 2.5 mm hole tool, and 25 hollow rivets in the chosen combination of material and color. In addition, the standard parts of the respective chosen press apply as described in the scope of delivery table.
What is the difference between single-head and double-head hollow rivets?
Double-head hollow rivets are shaped as a head on both the front and back and are suitable when both visible sides should look decorative. Single-head hollow rivets emphasize the visible side, while the other side is visually simpler.
Why is this set more practical than individual components?
Because the press, hole tool, hollow rivet tool and starter quantity of rivets are already matched within the chosen variant. This reduces typical mismatches of wrong tool size, hole size and rivet type. You also save a bit on price.
Is 5 mm also available with double head?
No. In this product family, 5 mm is only available with single head, not with double head.
Do I really need to pre-punch?
Yes. For these hollow rivets a 2.5 mm hole is usually needed to be prepared; the matching hole tool is included in the set.
How do I find the correct shaft or pin length?
The right length depends on the stacked workpiece thickness and the chosen hollow rivet variant. You can find specific measurements in the measurement data of the respective hollow rivet articles.
Can I use the press for other work later?
Yes. The chosen press remains the basis and can be extended with further matching Getmore Crafts tools, provided the thread, receptacle and application area match.
Can I set any third-party hollow rivets with this set?
The set is matched to the included Getmore hollow rivets and the matching Getmore tool. We give no functional guarantee for rivets from other manufacturers; check fit and result on a test piece before use.

Type

  • Single head: One side of the hollow rivet clearly stands out visually; the opposite side stays functional and understated. Suitable when mainly the visible outer side matters.
  • Double head: Both sides of the rivet are shaped as a head and look visually attractive. Suitable when the rivet should also be seen from the inside or from both sides.

Material

  • Steel: Hard, load-resistant metal rivet for robust textile and leather work.
  • Brass: Rust-free and machine-washable. Softer material, typical for decorative and fashion-oriented finishing.

Color

  • Depending on the variant, colors such as silver, gold, antique or black are available, complementing the surface of the chosen metal base.

Size

  • Single head: 5 mm, 6 mm, 7 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm
  • Double head: 6 mm, 7 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm
  • The size denotes the cap diameter of the hollow rivet; the included hollow rivet tool is matched to the same size.
  • 5 mm exists in this product family only with single head, not with double head.

Press

  • TEP-2: Compact lever press for mobile or occasional work and smaller series.
  • Spindle press: For seated work at the workbench, when little space above the press is available.
  • Toggle press: High pressing force with little physical effort for stronger and recurring applications.
  • Spring impact press: Mechanical spring system for less tiring work and repeated pressing operations.

How to use the set

  • 1. Punch a hole: Screw the hole tool into the press at the top and insert the brass anvil at the bottom. Position the material and punch a clean hole (approx. 2.5 mm).
  • 2. Change tool: Remove the hole tool and insert the matching hollow rivet tool – screw in the upper part, insert the lower part into the socket.
  • 3. Insert the rivet pin: Insert the foot/rivet pin (lower part with pin) into the lower tool.
  • 4. Place the material: Place the prepared material with the punched hole onto the pin of the rivet pin.
  • 5. Position the cap: Insert the matching rivet cap into the upper tool.
  • 6. Set the rivet: Carry out the pressing operation evenly in one motion until the rivet is set cleanly and firmly. Test presses on scrap material help with new material combinations.

Preparation and processing

  • For these hollow rivets a 2.5 mm hole is usually needed to be prepared; the matching hole tool is included in the set.
  • The usable shaft length of the chosen rivet must match the stacked workpiece thickness: the shaft should safely cover the entire layer; shafts that are too short lead to a poor fit.
  • Please refer to the measurement data of the respective hollow rivet articles in the Getmore range for the pin lengths of the individual hollow rivet variants.

The matching press in the set

  • TEP-2: Practical for compact workstations, occasional work and first hollow rivet projects.
  • Spindle press: Useful when you work with little clearance above and use the press fixed at the bench.
  • Toggle press: Useful when you need high pressing force with little physical effort and a fixed-mounted press.
  • Spring impact press: Useful for recurring series and even press impulses with a higher workload.

Extend later

  • The chosen press remains the basis and continues to accept tools with 1/4"-20 UNC on top and a matching lower receptacle.
  • For other hollow rivet sizes or head shapes, simply buy the matching hollow rivet tool and matching rivets later.
  • Likewise, with the matching tool, many other fasteners and hole work items from the Getmore range can be added later.

In the chosen set

  • The set contains the chosen press, a hollow rivet tool in the chosen head shape and size, a 2.5 mm hole tool and 25 hollow rivets in the chosen combination of material and color.
  • The tool size always corresponds to the chosen hollow rivet size.
  • The press is designed for the included Getmore hollow rivet tool; other tasks each require the matching tool.

System expansion with further Getmore Crafts products

  • With separately available tools and consumables you can extend the press with further hollow rivet sizes, eyelets, snap fasteners or hole and punching tasks, provided the tool and press fit within the intended application area.
  • For each new size or application you need the respective matching tool.

With products from other manufacturers

  • We give no functional guarantee for hollow rivets and tools from other manufacturers; fit and result depend on geometry, thread and material.
  • Check third-party rivets and tools on a test piece before use, and only if they mechanically fit the press.
