Product information "Spring-strike Press B-stock"

The spring-strike press is a hand press for repeatedly setting fasteners in textiles and leather. It is aimed at ambitious DIY users as well as workshops when you want to set eyelets, snap fasteners, hollow rivets, rivets and robust DIN 7332 eyelets cleanly and repeatably with the matching tool.

Force is transmitted via a mechanical spring system with adjustable pressure. This keeps the pressing process even while you apply comparatively little force yourself and can work longer series while seated in a controlled way.

The top has a 1/4" - 20 UNC thread, the bottom a 12 mm receptacle; with matching adapters and bushings you expand the system. For pressing you additionally need the respective matching tool.

How much force do I need to apply when pressing myself?
The mechanical spring strike takes over the force impulse; you control stroke and setting with comparatively little muscle power. This keeps recurring pressing operations controllable even over longer periods.
Is pressing tool included in the delivery?
No. Supplied are the spring-strike press (B-stock), a centring pin, a pressure pin and a manual. For pressing you need the matching tool separately.
Do I need an additional holder for button tools for covering with fabric?
Yes. For button tools to cover buttons with fabric you additionally need the button tool holder for the spring-strike press.
Are screws for table mounting included?
No. Mounting screws are not included, although optional holes for table mounting are available.
Can I use tools from other manufacturers?
Mechanically this is possible when thread, lower receptacle and free build height match. There is no blanket approval for all third-party manufacturers.
Are spare parts available for the press?
Individual parts are available on request. Contact Getmore Crafts customer service for this.
Do I need free space above the press?
No. No additional clearance above the press is needed for operation; it can also be used comfortably while seated.
How do I set the spring strike correctly?
Start with the weakest setting, make test pressings and increase strike strength only step by step when more force is needed. This protects tools and sensitive fasteners.

Applications and functions

Workflow in practice

  • Install upper and lower tool set matching the task and check the receptacle for 12 mm or the chosen reduction.
  • Lay out the workpiece cleanly and carry out the stroke until release in a controlled way.
  • For new combinations work on a test piece first before starting series.

Technical performance limits

  • Each application and size needs the matching tool; without correct tool no clean pressing is possible.
  • DIN 7332 eyelets require a matching DIN tool .
  • Too hard spring-strike settings increase wear and mis-set risk, especially with small eyelets, sensitive snap fasteners and hole punches.

Setup and space requirements

  • Due to high weight the press usually stands stably on the table; fixed mounting is generally not required.
  • Optionally four holes with 10 mm diameter are available for table mounting; screws are not included.
  • No additional clearance above the press is needed; operation while seated is also comfortable.

Operating notes

  • Loosen the nut on top of the piston and start with the weakest spring-strike setting.
  • Carry out test pressings and increase strike strength only step by step when more force is really needed.
  • This reduces wear and protects tools as well as sensitive fasteners.

With Getmore Crafts products
